PMO-BSU conducts planning workshop

Teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders from the different schools of Mindanao attended the Sustainability Planning Workshop of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology with Bukidnon State University on October 24, 2007 at the Pine Hills Hotel.

The workshop prepared the participants to implement the iSchools Project, a program of the CICT providing affordable Internet access to promote quality education in the public high schools.

Antonette Torres (CICT representative) and key officials of the Commission on Audit and the Department of Budget and Management answered questions in carrying out the project during the open forum.

The following were some of the Qs and As:

Q : Regarding the collection of the income of the telecenter, how can we classify these as trust funds?

A: fr0m Chapter 3 of PD 1445, Receipt and Disposition of Funds and Property. Sections 63 states that moneys and property received by public officials must be accounted for as government funds and property.

Q: Can we partner with private organizations/cooperatives in implementing this project?

A: No. The computers belong to the grantor. The grantor is the government.
